BMW 5 Series Sedan is Worst Side Impact Performer

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently announced the results of side-impact crash tests performed on several luxury cars. The 2008 year model BMW 5 Series sedan was the worst performer of the group. While the air bags protected the head of the dummy, they failed to protect the rest of the dummy from injury. One of the best performing models in the test was the 2007 year model Kia Amanti, which was also one of the lowest priced sedans in the test.
