Chrysler is recalling 72,333 Sebring and Avenger sedans manufactured during the 2007 and 2008 model years. The vehicles are being recalled due to defects in the front door latch. The cable that operates the latch may unseat from the interior release handle causing the latch to stick in the unlatched position. This can cause the door to open unexpectedly and any unbelted front seat passengers could fall out of the vehicle while it’s in motion or they could be ejected during a crash. Dealers will install a secondary retention feature to both front doors free of charge.
