Ford Motor Co. recalling 180,000 Vans and SUVs
Ford is recalling nearly 124,000 model year 2007-2008 Expedition SUV’s and Lincoln Navigator for faulty door handles and 57,000 SUV’S and vans for faulty fuel hoses.
The first recall impacts the most consumers. The springs inside the door handles could break and prevent the door handles from returning to a closed position. Ford spokesman, Wes Sherwood, states that in a side impact crash, door latches could open increasing the risk of injuries.
The Ford fire recall involves 57,000 E-150, E-250 and E-350 vans, and Navigator and Expedition SUV’s equipped with 5.4 liter engine manufactured during the 2006 and 2007 model years. The recall is due to a defective fuel rail cross-over hose that may crack and cause fire hazard.
There are no reports of injuries, crashes or accidents. Owners will be notified of this recall and dealers will replace the interior door handle spring and the fuel rail assembly when the recalls begin.
