General Motors Corp., is recalling over 13,000 vehicles for defects in the Sensing and Diagnostic Module ( SDM )which controls the front air bags. If the sensor does not operate properly, the airbags may fail to deploy in the event of an accident. A faulty sensor may also cause the air bag warning lamp to fail, therefore, not warning the driver that the air bag system is inoperative. The recall is for the 2007 model year GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook. Dealers will reprogram the module.
