American Honda Motor Corp. is recalling over 80,000 Accords manufactured between 2004 and 2005. The Seat Position Sensor (SPS) may have been installed improperly causing the sensor wire to break. As the SPS is responsible for controlling the air bag inflation pressure, a failure of this sensor will cause the air bag to default to full inflation pressure. The inflation of the air bag at full pressure can cause serious injury to smaller drivers in the event of a frontal crash. Dealers will replace the SPS wiring harness free of charge.
