Mazda is Recalling over 5,000 vehicles

Mazda Motor Corp. is recalling over 5,000 vehicles due to the potential for the drive shaft to detach. This may be caused when the No. 4 left side engine mount bolt loosens due to repeated sudden acceleration. Under these conditions the bolt may loosen or even break, allowing the transmission to move and potentially allowing the drive shaft to detach. If the drive shaft detaches, power to the wheels will be lost which could result in a crash. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the No. 4 engine mount with a modified one free of charge.
