The government is investigating two reports of fires on 2007 model year Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs. Both reports alleged that the fires occurred while the vehicles were parked in the home garage with the engine switched off. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the fires resulted in extensive property damage. Nearly 400,000 vehicles of the 2007 model year Tahoe and closely related GMC Yukon SUVs are involved in the investigation. General Motors Corp spokesman Alan Adler said, there has been no discernable trend. NHTSA is evaluating this issue to assess the cause and scope of the alleged defect.
