Nissan Motor Co. is recalling over 140,000 Altimas manufactured during the 2007 model year. The recall was issued after Nissan received several reports of the engine air filter catching fire. It was discovered that the filter may ignite if something such as a hot cigarette ash enters through the air intake. Nissan will replace the filters free of charge and also install an air deflector to help prevent the buildup of debris at the air filter.
