Joey Chindamo - Newsome | Melton

ATTORNEY

After graduating from the Florida State University College of Law, Joey started his legal career serving the people of Orange County as an Assistant State Attorney. He tried over 30 jury and nonjury trials and prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases involving felony offenses, domestic violence, drug trafficking, and juvenile offenses. As a prosecutor, Joey developed a passion for seeking justice, particularly for those who were wronged and victimized by crime.

Joey then joined a national Am Law 200 defense firm where he defended clients in premises liability, automobile liability, and general liability matters. Joey gained a deep understanding of how large corporations and insurance companies handle injury cases. After several years, Joey felt driven to leave his defense practice, and instead, use what he learned as a defense attorney to fight for justice on behalf of the people and families whose lives have been devastated by others’ negligence.

Joey was selected by his peers for inclusion in the inaugural edition of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. He served on the Executive Board of the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section from 2015 to 2021.
