Chrysler Group Recalled 2007 Jeep Commander’s For Brake Dangers

Chrysler Group notified owners that on certain utility vehicles, the software programmed into the ABS electronic control module could allow a momentary delay in braking when coasting up a hill during certain conditions. This could cause a crash without warning. More than 196,000 vehicles were involved in this recall.

Dealers reprogrammed the ABS electronic control module with new software designed to prevent this condition free of charge. The recalled vehicles were manufactured between January 2005 and July 2007. Chrysler first contacted owners to make them aware of these brake issues in October 2007.
