In 2005, a study conducted by the University of Michigan’s Survey Research Center revealed that RV and motorhome sales were at an all-time high, as approximately one in 12 American households owned recreational vehicles. Surprisingly, ownership of these massive vehicles wasn’t simply limited to the stereotypical retirees, with the age range of motorhome owners spanning more than 40 years. While economic concerns may have slowed the rising sales statistics over the last seven years, the fact remains that many Americans love combining travel with the comfort of home. However, they also must face the reality of combining comfort with the dangers of driving and defects.

Last week, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration revealed such dangers in a report regarding Entegra Coach recalling approximately 359 vehicles. According to Entegra’s recall report to the NHTSA, it was discovered that certain model motorhomes were manufactured with wiper links that were “shorter than required for proper function of the wiper system.”

Included in this recall are the 2011-2013 Aspire and Anthem Class A motorhomes and 2012-13 Cornerstone Class A motorhomes, which were all manufactured between March 14, 2011 and September 25, 2012. The problem with the wiper links was initially reported to Entegra Coach by AM Equipment, which manufactures the windshield wiper systems. Entegra has already begun contacting owners of the affected RVs in order to schedule free inspections and repairs of the wiper links.

In the meantime, Entegra owners can contact the company for additional information on this recall at (800) 945-4787.
