GM notified owners of this recall on September 1, 2009. They recalled 1,880 Chevrolet T-Series and Kodiak vehicles. Also included in this recall were H-Series and F-Series Isuzu vehicles and T-Series and Topkick GMC vehicles.
It was determined that the air brake system could malfunction. The air pressure was not high enough for the air brakes to function properly. If the driver ignored this warning and continued driving it, the parking brakes could engage automatically, disabling the vehicle.
Dealers were instructed to inspect, modify or replace air compressor components at no charge. The vehicles in question were manufactured between June 2006 and March 2007, and owners were notified of the recall in September 2009.
